These corporate style headshots were used to promote individuals on staff pages and seminars. These photos in use can be found on my SEL Visual Marketing post.
For these images, I took them on a Canon EOS-1D X Mark II using a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens and 3 Profoto B10 lights. One using a small softbox to light the background, one using a large softbox to light the left side of the subject, and one using a medium softbox to light the front of the subject. I also used foldable V-Flat cards to reflect light off the background and right side of my subjects to provide more fill.
The lighting set up will vary from time to time, however, after taking these images, I process the RAW files through Adobe Photoshop. I typically adjust shadows and highlights, even skin tones, brighten eyes, whiten smiles, contour the face, and use the liquify tool to fix hair, smiles, make up, and company apparel standards. My goal is not to change my subjects’ faces to appeal to a certain standard, but to highlight their natural features and bring out their best look. The subjects looked great before, but minor tweaks can make a large overall difference when these employees are being represented in external company media!
